Dean often ended up in places like this. Dive bars where most of the talent was local and not always that interesting, but occasionally, just occasionally, there was something interesting.
Tonight was a good night. He was off to the side of the bar, positioned to keep an eye on the entrances, and Derek happened to be perfectly in his view. He'd been watching him subtly (so he thought - in reality, it was not so subtly) for some time.
"You new around here?" Dean opened with as a man who had been seated between them got up to leave. Dean had spent the last several nights in the bar, as he and Sam were in town chasing a nest of vampires, and he hadn't seen this guy in once, though he wished he had. The local talent left something to be desired and this man was the sort of person he could imagine taking back to the hotel.
